Father Michael Brendan Ashe went to rest in the Arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Born to Julia and Michael Ashe
on Mar 9 1936 in Listowel, Ireland, Father Ashe was one of 5 children. He followed his calling to the Priesthood at an early
age, entering the seminary when he was 14 years old and being ordained at 23.
Throughout his priesthood, he served in various parishes and ministries all over the world, including Rome, London, France,
Sweden, and eventually the United States. He ministered to the people here in South Texas for over 40 years. Throughout his
time in the United States, he never lost his love for all things Irish - horse races, shamrocks, Gregorian Chant by The Monks
of Glenstal Abbey, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
His entire life was spent in selfless service to Our Lord, his parishioners, his family and friends. He is survived by
family in Ireland - sisters Mary and Aunie, and his brother Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, and his brother John.
