The following guidelines and restrictions are in effect until March 31st at which time they will be reevaluated. They may
change sooner according to the latest information.
1. All public Masses, including Sunday Mass, have been suspended throughout the Diocese of Corpus Christi until March
31, 2020. The faithful are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday.
Sunday Mass is broadcast on Channel 6-2, CW-STX on Sunday morning, check local listings as the time may be different each
week.

2. All parish retreats are cancelled. This includes (but not limited to) Confirmation retreats, youth retreats, ACTS retreats,
Journey retreats, TRUE Presence retreats, Fullness of Truth. The requirement to attend a Confirmation retreat is dispensed
for all Confirmation candidates 2020.
3. No parish meetings or groups should gather that include more than 10 people. When it is determined that a meeting is
necessary, please ask the attendees to abide by the precautions and recommendations for good hygiene. If anyone is not well
or shows signs of the COVID-19, they should not attend.
4. All diocesan and parish pilgrimages are cancelled effective immediately until September 1, 2020.
5. Religious Education classes are should follow the local school districts schedule. Riviera ISD is closed until April
17, 2020 therefore our CCD will be cancelled until Monday, April 20, 2020.
6. All parish festivals and other activities that exceed the numbers recommended by Public Health Authorities should be
postpone or cancelled for another time. OLC Parish Fish Fry, that was scheduled for March 27th, will be postponed until another
date is decided upon. If you purchased tickets and would like a refund please contact Ronnie Unterbrink 296-4121.
7. As of now Funerals can be celebrated, but should be attended by immediate family members and close friends up to the
number suggested by Public Health Authorities.
8. Penance---Confessions can continue for now; however we are encouraged to use screens or the confessionals as the preferred
option in observation of healthy social distancing. Our Penance Service will be held on Thursday March 26, 2020 outside of
the OLC Hall from 6:30-7:30pm. Bishop Mulvey has allowed the pastors to use the Fourth Form of Rite of Penance, the Rite of
Reconciliation of Several Penitents with General Confession & Absolution. If you are sick or feeling unwell do not attend
also please do not congregate together and allow plenty of space between you and others. Anyone who wishes to go to confession
individually please contact the office for an appointment 297-5255.
9. Ministry to the Sick---Over the next few months visits to the sick are limited to those who are in need of Viaticum,
the Anointing of the Sick or Confessions.
10. Homebound visitations: Please understand that visiting homes to bring Holy Communion-which may be a normal ministry
in the parishes--must be suspended at this time in order to lessen the threat of spreading the infection of COVID-19.
11. If anyone knows of anyone in dire need of food please contact the office 296-5255 and we will try and assist those
individuals.
12. We understand your financial burdens. However, if you would like to still send in your weekly contributions to the
